FREE Organic Foods

I'm not sure if any of y'all use Vitacost.  It's like Ruelala and the like but for health products, such as organic or gluten free food products.  I've shopped there a few times and have really liked it so far.

Right now they have a great deal running that's worth me sharing.  If you sign up using this link, you automatically get a $10 credit.  It only takes a few minutes for it to show up too.  Then you can purchase a few items that are currently part of the special deal shipping for free right now.  If your items total around $10, you will get all of those items shipped to you for free or nearly free, depending on the price of items you choose.

Vitacost

Oh and with every order, you are able to add two free samples to your cart.  Just scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on "free samples" and add two to your cart.  Yay for more freebies!

In all fairness, I also get a $10 credit if you sign up and make a purchase.  But you can then post it on your blog to get a credit or two, too.  Honestly though, I've been shopping on this site for about a year now and just wanted to share the $10 instant credit with you.  It's a great way to stop up on a few staples for next to nothing, without leaving your living room.

Shop here

I'm using this sale to stock up on a few favorites like Gluten Free crackers, coconut oil, and organic pumpkin.  I love having these on hand this time of year!

I love free ORGANIC food!

OK tomorrow I promise I will be back with a normal post.  But free food and vitamins just seemed worth sharing.

I Rocked Rite Aid

Sorry these are late but I didn't have time to shop until Saturday afternoon.  And so...things are just being posted now.  But I like to look back to see how I did on deals from time to time so I just post them anyway.

I should note that that I have hardly shopped at drug stores this year.  As in, the entire 2012 year.  You see, I did almost too good of a job stocking up last year.  Because I still have a year's supply (or close to it) of body wash, razors, deodorant, shave gel, and several other items.  I have at least a year's supply of laundry detergent.  And dishwasher tabs.

Because I have plenty (and this doesn't include the boxes I have donated) and have very limited storage space, I just didn't see a need to re-stock until my supply ran lower.

So I've not shopped my drug store deals much at all this year.  Which is fine.  But I will also lose my Rite Aid silver status next year.

Win some, lose some.

Also, I do not like their new coupon/reward card/+up Rewards system.  Way too confusing.

But back to my shopping trip.

Free Baby Formula And Tylenol Make A Great Donation To Those In Need

Oh how I love to get free and cheap baby formula!

Similac Advanced was marked down to $5/each.  And wouldn't you know, I had a bunch of $5 coupons.  Hello FREE formula!

The Gerber was marked down to $13.  I had a $10 coupon.  So just $3!

Tylenol Precise was marked down to just $3, normally $7.99 (I think).  I had seven (had to do this in two transactions) $3 coupons.  All for FREE.

Cherries were not on sale but I wanted a snack.  :)

And minus my snack-o-cherries, this will all be donated to those in need.

For the donation of formula and Tylenol...

Free Cortaid At CVS

I finally found Cortaid!

For those who have not yet been to CVS this week, make sure you scan your card at the magic red machine.  And my tip is to scan until it tells you "No More Coupons."  On Sunday I scanned, got coupons, scanned a second time, got coupons, scanned a third time, got one coupon and scanned a fourth time when I was told No More Coupons.  Yup...sometimes you get that many coupons.  Then again, a few weeks ago, I got zero coupons.  You just never know.

But the point is that most are reporting that CVS is giving them a coupon for FREE Cortaid up to $5.99 value.

It took me two days and two stores but I found it yesterday.  Yay!  This seems like a good product to have on hand during gardening season, just in case.

CVS Deals

I popped into CVS today for a few things.  Actually, just what you see here.  Some deals are better than others.  Such as the fish oil pills.  I prefer to get a better deal on those.  But my dear old daddy o forgets to tell me he needs things until he is out of them.  So I am often forced to get the best deal at the moment rather than the best deal of a season.  Such is life.  We've all been there.

This entire transaction was done without using a single coupon.

And the magic red machine gave me a coupon for FREE Cortaid Anti Itch Cream.  That's what you see in the photo.  However my store didn't actually carry the Cortaid brand.  I will check a different store tomorrow.

My Price Chopper Shopping Trip

I did really well today.

The asparagus were pretty pricy but I plan to use them in a hopefully yummy salad that I found on Pinterest.  It's my goal to not turn on the oven at all when it is this hot outside.  The Yoplait yogurts all had a $0.25 Price Chopper mark down on them- yay!  With my $0.30/1 coupon, they were FREE!  The chocolate here and from last week all has a plan.  Remember when I showed you the s'mores sticks that I picked up for Christmas gifts?  These chocolate bars are part of that grand plan too.  I seriously shop all year long for Christmas gifts.  The razors are a donation item.  They were free after coupons (though they rang up a full price so be sure to pay attention when ringing up), so for the price of tax I don't mind picking up a few packs.  The brownies are not for me but I like to keep things like this on hand.  You just never know when you might need to bring a treat to a meeting or sick relative.

I also used several competitor coupons such as the Dollar General $5/$25 and catalina coupons.

The details...

With these awesome sales, plus a few from last week and some staples from the pantry, I was able to make SIX yummy dinners in five nights this week, too.  Several are even freezer meals- to enjoy later when you are too busy to cook.

On Monday, I cooked up a big package of chicken breasts to make a very yummy dinner of Chicken Mojo as dinner #1.  A BIG crowd pleaser!!  This was step one in a week of dinners, as I pre-cooked a week's worth of chicken at one time.  Better yet, I used the crockpot as to not add any extra heat into the house!

On Tuesday, I use some of the leftover Chicken Mojo and great produce sales such as $1 lettuce from Price Chopper to make my version of PF Chang's Lettuce Wraps as dinner #2.  Ooooh they are so tasty.

On Wednesday I used the two packs of BOGO free boneless pork ribs (one of my very favorite meat sales that PChop does from time to time) to make BBQ Pork Ribs for dinner #3.  A classic any time of year.  A simple potato "baked" in the microwave and a yummy salad make this a "stick to your ribs" meal.  Very satisfying!

On Thursday I made my first of three freezer meals for the week, Sweet and Sour Chicken as dinner #4.  Once again using some of the Chicken Mojo cooked on Monday.  The gift (or bird) that keeps on giving.  This is the perfect meal for a busy night when you want to eat something tasty, healthy and easy peasy lemon squeezy.  The prep for this meal took less than five minutes!

And on Friday, I made my third and fourth freezer meals of the week, Cheesy Chicken and Rice as dinners #5 and #6 for the week.  They were the same meal but I made one to eat that night and one to freeze.  Or two to freeze.  This used up the very last of the Chicken Mojo from Monday night.  Not one skinny bit went to waste, but every nibble was incredibly tasty.

And today, Saturday, I am going to offer you one more meal prep tip for the week.  You know those yummy freezer meals that I made this week?  Those make awesome gifts!  Great to give to a sick relative or friend or someone who just had a baby.  Great to give to a friend who is under a lot of life stress, too. It is so easy for you to make them ahead of time and gift as needed.  Because while a scented candle is lovely, nothing says I love you like a home cooked meal!

How much fun to prepare once (chicken, onions, rice) and use many times over the week!  The key is to have a PLAN.

I pay close attention to Price Chopper sales ads, manufacturer coupons, Price Chopper coupons, Catalina deals (this is my weak spot but I am learning to be better at them) and what I already have in my pantry to make the most of my grocery budget each week.  Planning ahead to stockpile the best deals is another budget saver.  For example, this week I will pick up a few of the chicken packs, Polar Springs 12-packs, Clorox wipes, Suave lotion, Breyer's ice cream, pork ribs, mayo and Kikoman marinades for my stockpile.  I clearly do not need everything this very week, but these are all items I love to use throughout the summer months.

I also took the time on Sunday to plan out my dinners for the week, based on the protein and veggie sales.  Not only does this save your budget, but it also saves you time and most important with summer approaching...calories.  Look again at all of the meals I just made this week.  Click on the links to see each ingredient.  Those are really healthy meals, y'all!  Not just a bunch of junk to fill you up.  I made six healthy, gluten free meals, to feed 4-6 people, using one package of chicken and two packages of pork ribs.

It is so worth the extra time it takes to plan on Sunday knowing it will save me time, money, energy and calories throughout the remainder of the week.

So tell me, what was your favorite purchase from Price Chopper this week?

Meet Jacqueline

Jacqueline and Josie, the happiest baby I have ever met!

So I thought it would be fun to ask my friend Jacqueline, our favorite Rodan + Fields consultant, a few questions about her relationship with the brand.  You have a little more than 24 hours still to enter the great giveaway.  So don't delay.

Now let's meet Jacqueline.

A little background from my end.  I honestly consider Jacqueline to be more of a cousin than anything else.  I've known her since she was born.  Her parents bought her childhood home from my parents.  Then when we moved back to Florida, we moved right across the street.  And next door to my bestie Florida, Jacqueline's actual cousin.  We celebrated birthdays, holidays and then some together.  And then of course, our completely awesome years doing Indian Princesses.  We go back to the womb, baby!  She rocks!

* How did you first learn about Rodan + Fields?

I had been using Proactiv for five years and wanted a change in my skincare routine. My acne had cleared, BUT I still had a lot of skin issues that needed to be addressed after my pregnancy. My friend invited me to a Rodan+Fields event where she told me about the products. I bought a skincare regimen and instantly saw results in my skin after the first use. Since then, I have been adding different products to my daily skincare regimen.

* Why did you decide to sell Rodan + Fields?

Rodan+Fields is a growing name in anti-age and was developed by the creators of Proactiv. As a stay at home mom I was looking for something to add a little extra income to our household and I fell in LOVE with the Rodan+Fields skincare products. I tell everybody I know about the products, because the products work and I believe in them personally. I was disappointed that I hadn't used or heard about the products sooner, so I decided to sell Rodan+Fields to improve peoples confidence in their skin and in their lives!

* What are your top two favorite products that you personally use from the line?

I use the BLEMISH skincare regimen in the morning and the ANTI-AGE regimen in the evening combined with the AMP MD system. In addition to the skincare regimens, I use the Multi-Function eye cream, renewing lip serum, body moisturizer, and ANTI-AGE hand treatment. My two favorite products are the Mineral Peptide Powder and the AMP MD system. The powder is light weight and covers evenly. It is amazing and doesn't feel like I am wearing any makeup! The AMP MD system uses the micro-needle roller with a capsule of antioxidants and peptides that creates the softest skin texture. It is easy to use and you see immediate results. I love all the products, but those are my two favorite right now.

* Outside of representing Rodan + Fields, what are your favorite things to do?

I enjoy spending time with my husband and 6 month old daughter, baking (any and all dishes), cake/cupcake decorating, reading, and running (especially after all the sweets I make)!

* Because we both profess to love it, what is your favorite recipe you found on Pinterest?

After discovering Pinterest I no longer use cookbooks, so all of my recipes come from Pinterest. My favorite Pinterest recipe is chocolate chip salted caramel cookie bars. They are delicious and I love the combination of sweet and salty!

My Final Round With Price Chopper Triple Coupons

One final trip to Price Chopper to use my triple coupons.  I picked up the 5/$12 Polar Seltzer.  I LOVE this stuff!  So refreshing on a hot day.  Add a splash of vodka and it's rather delish on a hot night too!

I've never used Xtra detergent.  However my store was out last week.  So I had two rain checks for the $0.99 store coupons.  I was also able to use $1/2 coupon and then on top of that had a catalina coupon (found) for $1.50/$6 or more in laundry products.  Do the math...like it or not that detergent was coming home with me!  If I don't like it I can always donate it.

I used my triple coupons on the Wholly Guacamole reg. $2.99, $1/1 coupon plus triple means it was FREE.  And the Simply Orange juice reg. $3.79, $1/1 coupon plus triple means it was just $0.79.  Hello awesome sauce!

I had coupons and catalinas that I made work like nobody's business!  Want to know my final numbers?

Total value purchased ... $67.07
Paid out of pocket ... $20.07
Percentage saved ...70%

Oh and as a bonus, sitting in a basket above the catalina machine that only ever gives me a coupon for a dumb oil change, were someone else's two unwanted cats.  One for $1 off a produce purchase of $4 or more.  And a second for yet another FREE Price Chopper roll of paper towels valued up to $1.89.  I have no idea what produced those free paper towel coupons but to date, I have found three of them discarded.  It's like coupon serendipity.

Lilly Pulitzer and La Pearla on Ruelala Right Now

Fellow Lilly lovers, did you know that Ruelala has some awesome Lilly Pulitzer gifts on sale right now?  Cute, cute surseys like laptop bags, ipad cases, phone (including Blackberry) cases, party decorations, lunch bags and much more!  Hurry though, favorites tend to sell out quickly on Ruelala.

La Pearla is also on sale.  I love their products.  Normally so pricey but yay for Rue solving that problem for us!!

Oh Target, How I Love Thee!

Oh Target, how I love thee!

I have had coupon for $10/1 Food Saver for weeks now but Target has been sold out.  They expired today so I asked if I could use the coupons on these things.  They said yes.  They were $9.99 so FREE after coupons!

I had four $2/1 Revlon Beauty tool coupons.  I need a new pair of tweezers and an eyelash curler so this is perfect timing.  Those cool blue polka dot tweezers were listed as $1.89.  Score!  Picked up a second pair (why is a single tweezing device called a pair?) because I tend to lose these things and free is fabulous.  However after paying, I realized they rang up a $6.99.  Uh-oh!  I went to Customer Service to either price adjust or return them altogether.  They were so nice to me!  The reps went to check to find that these were in fact all on the wrong rack.  So they moved them to the correct price and then sold them to me at the lower price - so refunded the difference.  I didn't ask them to do that and though it was such great, positive customer service!

I LOVE this Elf mineral blemish powder.  Online, it's $8, before shipping.  Which is honestly a very good price.  But there was one lonely package on the clearance rack for $4.25.  I've been out for a while and have not purchased because I hate paying shipping.  So this was a SCORE for me today!

Target Ibuprofen, 24 count, is regularly priced at $0.97.  You can find it in both the travel aisle and the regular pain relief aisle.  Use the $1/1 Target Ibuprofen coupon to get it for FREE!  Print this coupon quickly though as I anticipate it disappearing soon.

And finally, the most fun purchase that was regularly priced and has no coupons.  Ten colorful s'mores sticks at just $1/each from the front $1 section.  For the kids in the family this Christmas (and a few friends), I plan to give them a s'mores stick, homemade marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers.  I promise to post this in more detail in December.  I'm just super excited about having 10 Christmas gifts already figured out!

Stocked Up On Toilet Tissue and Bananas At Price Chopper This Week

There were some great deals at Price Chopper this week!  As I waited until late Saturday evening to actually do this shopping trip, the deals are now over.  But I want to note a few of the highlights and my overall savings.

(1) Jr. Bananas*  reg. $1.29, $99 with coupon from pharmacy counter

(2) Angel Soft Bath Tissue 12 double rolls  reg. $7.99, sale $5
- (1) $1/2 Angel Soft  3/25 RP
- (1) $2/2 PC isave
- (1) $1.50/any $6 toilet tissue purchase Catalina
= OOP $5.50/2 packs or just $2.75/pack or just $0.25/double roll or just $0.12/single roll
~ Saved ... 66%

(1) Roll Price Chopper paper towels  reg. $1.50
- (1) FREE any PC paper towel catalina
= OOP FREE

I also used the $5/$25 coupon from Dollar General.  This was my first time remembering to use this one so I was pretty excited!  And I used the $2/$10 produce PC coupon.  Both of those really helped!

In total, here is how I did...

Total value purchased ... $45.52
Paid out of pocket ... $20.71
Percentage saved ... 54%

* I am completely, morally against buying things like bananas in plastic bags.  This has to be the dumbest packaging idea ever.  Because hello, things like bananas come pre-packaged.  It's called a peel.  However, I swallowed my own standards to get the cheapo bananas.  But please know, this was my first time buying the ridiculously pre-packaged bananas.

Print And Save This Coupon To Buy Laundry Detergent For Just $0.04/Load

What is your stock up price on laundry detergent?  Do you have one?  You should think about it if you have not already.  Mine is $0.05/load.  Unless I am needing it right now (which will never happen as I already have a HUGE supply of laundry everything- I need to post a photo sometime), I will not buy laundry detergent.  However, this example meets my stock up price!

Starting Sunday April 22, Price Chopper will have Arm & Hammer laundry detergent on sale, half price.  Just $3.49/bottle with 35 loads.  There is a $2/1 Arm & Hammer laundry detergent coupon that we can use to bring the price down to just $1.49!  That makes each load only $0.04!!

But I'd print those coupons now just in case they disappear before Sunday.  You never know with printable coupons.
