I popped into CVS today for a few things.  Actually, just what you see here.  Some deals are better than others.  Such as the fish oil pills.  I prefer to get a better deal on those.  But my dear old daddy o forgets to tell me he needs things until he is out of them.  So I am often forced to get the best deal at the moment rather than the best deal of a season.  Such is life.  We've all been there. 

This entire transaction was done without using a single coupon. 

And the magic red machine gave me a coupon for FREE Cortaid Anti Itch Cream.  That's what you see in the photo.  However my store didn't actually carry the Cortaid brand.  I will check a different store tomorrow.

Picking Up A Few More Deals At Price Chopper

So I picked up a few things at Price Chopper tonight.  They were out of blueberries though.  Sadly.  I also ran into troubles with Catalinas.  One didn't print due to paper running out.  Customer service was really nice and gave me $4 (value of Cat) to make good on that one.  Then in my second (and final) transaction, a Catalina didn't print but I didn't realize that one until I go got home.  So mascara is not photographed as I will just return them next week.

So these are just a few highlights that you might want to pick up tomorrow.  I was surprised at the size of the ketchup that was on sale.  I thought it was the smaller 20oz but nope...it was the larger 40 oz.  Twice as good!

Cream cheese has a long shelf life and I use it a good bit in the summer to make dips and such.  So I like to stock up when it goes on sale.  I've been dying to try these fancy sweet Philadelphia cream cheeses.  Um...it's waaaay too rich for me.  Sort of like a super thick pudding.  I thought I would like it on the strawberries...and it's OK I guess...but I will not be purchasing this again.  I feel the same way about those savory Philadelphia cooking cream cheeses that everyone loves.  Live and learn.

I also used the $2/$20 Hannaford coupon.  Competitor coupons at Price Chopper so far totally makes up for the much harder to reach gas incentive.

Making Money At Price Chopper

There is a great deal this week at Price Chopper.  If you purchase $150 worth of Lowes gift cards (in a single transaction), you will earn a $10 OYNO Price Chopper catalina.

I needed to make a purchase today at Lowes so this was perfect!  I simply popped into Price Chopper first to buy my gift cards.  Then cruised down the road to Lowes.  And paid with my gift cards.  When I grocery shop later in the week, I have a mighty nice $10 catalina to use!

Nivea Money Maker At Target

I popped into Target yesterday too for brown rice.  This is honestly my very favorite brand of rice.  So yummy.  And at just $0.79/bag, it's crazy cheap.  Cooked, a bag makes 10 cups.  Each cup is just $0.08.  Talk about frugal!!

I cook two bags at a time.  I've mentioned it a few times but it's worth noting again.  I think those who cook a few cups of rice at a time are just silly.  What a waste of your valuable time.  Cook two bags.  Once cooled, divvy up into zip top baggies and freeze.  Simply defrost in fridge or microwave for pre-cooked rice any night of the week.  This has saved me so many times when I have a tummy ache (ditto on the dog).

Also, this is the first time I've purchased those creme tins and I am in LOVE.  They are fantastic.  I get such dry hands and that stuff is much thicker than regular lotion.  Sort of in between a lotion and a body butter.  So this turned out to be a total winner of a deal for me!

* OK I should not have been able to use two coupons.  I pulled them out and realized as much so started to put the second coupon back in my wallet.  The cashier saw me and said she thought I could use a second coupon.  I let her try and it didn't beep.  However, after I got home I double checked and the coupons do in fact read that they are to be used on 1.7 oz or larger.  Even with only using one coupon, this is still a Money Maker and you will save 40%.

Dog Food Money Maker

Wowie kazowie!  This is finally going to get me to drive over to Nisky for my very first trip to ShopRite!  Big moment.  I need to figure out what else I am going to get but I know for sure, I will be buying a bunch of dog food.
